Personal help choosing the right setup
Bjørn Kaupang has been kiting since 1999 and is happy to help you choose kite, size and gear for your level, terrain and use. The goal isn’t to sell as much equipment as possible, but to find a setup that really works for you in the mountains.
Ozone Explore V3 — complete package for snow kiting in the mountains
Our main product is Ozone Explore V3, supplied as a complete package with kite, Ozone Contact Snow V5 control bar, lines and leash.
We recommend this kite if you want a safe, light and predictable setup. It works equally well for cruising, beginners, ski touring and touring-style snowkiting — when the aim is controlled travel and mountain journeys rather than acrobatics. Explore is a single-skin kite, which means low weight, easy handling and very good characteristics for winter mountain trips.
It fits especially well on Hardangervidda, where stability, control and ease of use often matter more than aggressive riding.
The complete package includes
- Ozone Explore V3 in your chosen size
- Ozone Contact Snow V5 control bar
- Lines included
- Leash matched to the setup
Why we recommend Ozone Explore
Predictable and easy to use
Explore is easy to handle and behaves very predictably in the air. That makes it a good choice for beginners and experienced kiters who want a safe, straightforward setup for touring.
Low weight, good touring comfort
As a single-skin kite, Explore is easy to carry, quick to rig and well suited to long days out. It’s built for travel, cruising, touring-style riding and ski touring.
Five-line setup
With five lines, self-landing is simpler and safer — a clear advantage in the mountains, where you’re often alone in open terrain and conditions can change fast.
Solid quality
Ozone is one of the most established names in snowkiting. They maintain strong quality control through their own factory in Vietnam, which produces kites only for Ozone.
Developed with Hardangervidda as a test arena
For us it’s especially relevant that much of this kite’s development took place on Hardangervidda together with Stu Yarrow from Ozone.
Explore isn’t built for jumping and freestyle — other models suit that better. For winter mountain touring, though, we think it’s among the best choices out there.
